Fleer Mystique

Way back in year 2000 (wow that was a long time ago now!) I opened a box of Fleer Mystique. I remember enjoying it so if I ever see one again for a reasonable price I would buy it. Only football boxes currently on ebay because of Brady. That QB guy or something.

Check out some of the fun inserts.

Shiny Cal Ripken Jr High Praise!

2 Supernaturals Mark McGwire and Nomar Garciaparra. I met Nomar at all star baseball weekend in Pheonix a few years ago. He was nice. He signed my baseball. "To Brad Go Team USA! Nomar Garciappara". Solid penmanship as well. It's a shame his wrist injuries really hurt his career. He was one of the best when he was in his prime. Everyone knows about McGwire, Took Andro hit a lot of home runs, probably won't make the Hall of Fame. Although his numbers besides Home Runs are very borderline in my opinion.

Football is almost over!

I didn't have any money on the 2 championship games but yet I still watched. In my opinion the games did not live up to the hype. Just straight blow outs. Packers forgot to show up and Steelers just looked over matched. I hope the Falcons knock off the Pats in the Super Bowl. Brady is already in the Hall of Fame he doesn't need another ring. Matt Ryan is fairly local to where I grew up so that'd be neat to see him win.

Completely unrelated card.. my Michael Jordan Baseball rookie!

He was a star rookie in Upper Deck's eyes! He never quite made it in baseball but he was pretty good at that other sport. Hope everyone won lots of money betting this weekend!

Not sure if I missed any points. It's ok though this one was just for fun. The 102 doesn't put me high on the leaderboard but if I ever rip the double rip card that'd be +24 which would vault this box into 5th place! Very nice for the Winner's Box. Can't wait for next year's contest!

Thanks for following along! Pitchers and Catchers Report February 23rd! (or thereabouts)

Gint A Cuffs Winner's Box Part 3 (Check it out Royals Fans!)

This year between me and my wife we opened 4 boxes of Ginter. She participated in Gint A Cuffs and finished in the middle of the pack. She also grabbed an extra box and opened it at the National to get some of the Topps Promo Packs. (I opened 2 Topps Chrome boxes at that time) (rather fun rip but I usually like Chrome so no surprise there) I bought one box at the national to open for Gint A Cuffs and then got this winner's box.

Running Total was +55 from the previous post.

I'm not going to beat around the bush on this post.. this was the big card that was hit in the box. 4 total boxes opened in this household. 2 out of the 4 boxes contained a double rip card...

Only 4 packs to go. Didn't get a ton of points besides the Double Rip card. I could have 24 more pts mininum if I ever decide to rip the card. Can't bring myself to do it though. Would probably feel better trading for a hard to find Phillies card with a Royals fan then ripping it myself. Who knows though! Maybe we'll crack 100 but no way I'm getting close to my winning score of 153.5.

Gint-A-Cuffs Winner's Box Part 2

Let's continue the reveal. Always fun to win! On a non baseball related note 3 of the 4 wild card games were not interesting. Currently watching the Packers-Giants, hopefully will come down to the wire. I have no dog in these fights just want to see some good action. I'm an Eagles fan, we have quite a rebuild. Hopefully the schedule won't be so bad next year (Eagles had the hardest schedule in the NFL this year) Maybe they'll get lucky and sneak into the playoffs next year.

Onto the next pack!

Halfway through the box. If it all averages out I'd be at +110 which this year isn't that bad. That would've put this box in the7-9 range overall. We shall see if the points hold true to the first half. Only one hit has been revealed although the nice short print minis were shown as well. What lays ahead in Gint A Cuffs!

Thanks for reading, stay tuned tomorrow for the next part!

Back-to-Back Champion! Gint-A-Cuffs Winner's Box 2016

I have been entering Gint-A-Cuffs since my blog existed. It was part of the motivation for starting this blog (along with trading and generally being interested in collecting sports cards) I was lucky enough to win last year with a fantastic double rip card hit that happened to have my favorite player on it for the contest (Kenta Maeda). We shall see if I hit anything cool in my prize box.

I will be scoring this per the rules of 2016 for consistency sake.
