Trade with The Legend of the Shoebox!

I recently completed another trade with Shane over at Shoe Box Legends! I posted a few Red Sox cards he said he wanted I said no problem.. He gathered up every Phillies card known to man and sent them to me! It was 2 rather large stacks of cards so I scanned a few!

 

A few nice things going on in these cards. A double dose of Utley (4 for 5 today big win!) A new Ryan Howard card. And YES Tommy Greene is in the NO Hit Club!! It's like the hair club for men, he's not only the president he's also a member!! 

 

I really like the Bowman Heritage Pat Burrell card. I am a big fan of 1955 Bowman. Another Howard probably hitting a home run in that picture. A pretty cool Turkey Red card. Like the painted shots. 

Look at the Vet! The 700 level used to be a great spot to see some fights and take in a game! Kruk and Daulton are all over the airwaves these days. If you are in the Philly area talking baseball with Dutch is my afternoon listening on the drive home from work. Obviously Krukker is on national TV. (I do like how he managed to get his autos into 500 dollar a box products!) Good for him though not a bad accomplishment. On the bottom there is a Mike Grace rookie. I met him when he was in double A and he signed a bat for me. Nice guy, unfortunately his career ended because of arm trouble.

Trade with Mmmmrhubarb!

I recently completed a trade with twins fan Rhubarb! He sent me a nice eclectic mix of cards and the trade worked out quite nicely. Lets show off some cool stuff!

Always appreciate a smattering of Big Hurt's 90s shininess. Especially like the Score Gold Rush card. I bought a ton of that as a kid and always liked the one per pack gold parallel. Shiny is good. That's probably written somewhere in the constitution.

Three pretty sweet cards here. The Thome relic is my first of his and def a keeper. The Revere is a current Philly so he is on my current collecting list. I wish he would get on base more cause he's so dangerous once he gets on, this kid is crazy fast. The Will Clark is a pretty sweet relic. It will probably make its way to a Giants collector at some point but for now I'm happy with it hanging out in my collection.

He also sent me an entire team set! I haven't opened it.. don't think I'm going too.. or maybe I will.. I don't know Sergio will decide that later.

This a heritage boxtopper with Chooch on it. I didn't buy a box so getting a boxtopper is pretty cool. I found it interesting that Justin Verlander was the back of the card. Just an observation!

A Sweet Patch and some Stamps!

We at Brad's Blog (and by 'We' I mean me since its my blog) are taking a break from trade post week. I do have some more to post and scanned them tonight but I will give them props on some later days. I wanted to show off this sick card (and by 'sick' I mean good) from Gypsy Queen that I picked up! I was in a fierce bidding war but I was determined to not lose this card cause I knew it wouldn't be popping up again anytime soon.

I love me some patches!

The patch is nice and stripey! Also this card is numbered 10 out of 10! Fits right into my ever growing patch/auto Ryan Howard collection. The card is pretty thick but looks nice in the 1 touch holder (provided by the seller Thanks!).

Recently, I went to the post office to pick up stamps and mail off some trades! The lovely girlfriend asked me to pick pretty stamps for some stuff she needed to mail.. How did I do?!

Hard to get much prettier then that!

Trade with The Diamond King!

I recently completed an unplanned swap with The Diamond King! He had sent me an Andre Igoudala auto a while back for nothing and once he announced his SCAM steroids collecting project, I was able to send him a decent relic. I told him don't send anything back cause I owed him from before but being the generous trader he is he sent me a awesome surprise package anyway! I definitely owe you one and will try and get together a decent package in the next coming weeks!

A very nice assortment of shiny cards. I like the Robin Roberts reprint (have the original too!). Cliff Lee has been a bright spot for the Phillies this year. The painted Ryan Howard is pretty cool and def a new one to add to my Howard PC. I need to pull those cards they are kind of all over the place. I like the look of the Rowand as a 1959 topps chrome. All in all good stuff...

But of course The DK (mind if I call you that?) did not dissappoint...

 

A sweet Howard ginter relic that I didn't have! Much appreciated and love the pinstripe in the card, gives it character!

Trade with The Owl!

I recently completed my first trade with Night Owl! If you are reading this blog and haven't read his.. well I'd be kinda surprised he has a much larger following and is actually a good writer. But none the less go visit his blog after reading this post (and all the others I've written). I inquired about a card he posted on his blog and he said if you want it its yours. I sent him some Dodgers and he sent me some Phillies!

I believe these were all new Phillies to the collection. I know I did not have the Halladay or Victorino Red parallel version. I wasn't collecting in 2008 so to pick up the Chrome cards of 2 Phillies I really like is much appreciated. The Goodwin champions card is quite serene. It looks like a nice day.

The Cole Hamels die cut is what started the trade, quite a nice shiny card in person. I like how Brad Lidge and Papelbon and super intense after the save. Who doesn't like vintage?! My first 75 mini of Bob Boone and some other nice vintage cards.

Trade with Thoughts and Sox!

I recently completed another great trade with Adam of Thoughts and Sox! He is a Bill Virdon supercollector and I was lucky enough to obtain a card that he didn't already have. I posted about it earlier.. A Future Trade That future trade is completed! I am quite happy with what I received in return for that card and I believe he likes the card for his PC as well so win-win!

I am not personally a David Ortiz fan, but I do like the way he plays the game, seems to really enjoy it. I just really liked the patch on this card and I think the card itself looks really cool all together. Very well put together and sweet patch!

Two awesome vintage pieces. The 1972 Yaz is amazing and the Hank Aaron is pretty nice I would say. I am quite pleased by vintage. I wasn't born when these cards came out but I appreciate the history that they provide. The Schilling relics are nice, I do like the framed A&G cards. Makes the card pop out!

Main Event #1..!

A Top 3 Running Back of all Time Barry Sanders! He was a pleasure to watch and decided to retire when he was ready. It's a shame he wasn't on some better teams. It's between him Emmit Smith and Walter Payton as the best ever in my opinion. Maybe in a few years Adrian Peterson will be in that conversation as well. I am quite happy to trade for a sweet rookie of Barry!

Main Event #2!

Joe Frazier's auto 8x10 photo (also came with  COA). He is one of the All Time Greats! I am not a boxing collector but I couldn't pass up a chance to own this awesome piece! He only ever lost to Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. That's it! Quite an amazing career!
